The latest today is that Rep. Meyer cut $1 million from Gov. Palin’s budget... money that was specifically set aside to supplement preschool/Head-start programs.
Interesting... and inconceivably short sighted.
We can supposedly afford to spend millions to billions of dollars to move the capital, but we can’t afford to spend $1 million to educate those who will be Alaska’s future. These kids are going to need all the education they can get, in order to right all the financial problems we end up with, if the lawmakers of today are successful in eliminating the FRANK Initiative.
Decisions like these, made by Rep. Meyer, just reconfirms that we can not afford to live without the FRANK Initiative.
